Indexes to School Age Children, 1924–1954

1924-1954

This series includes records of Osage Indian students who were attending public, mission, and Bureau of Indian Affairs secondary schools. A few students also attended colleges and universities. The information given for each student includes the student's name, dates that he/she attended school, grade levels, and locations of the various schools. The cards also give information about the student's parents including whether the parent was white or Osage Indian, sex, and date of birth. If the parent was Indian, the card indicates what degree of Indian blood the person had and whether the parent was unallotted or restricted in managing financial affairs. There is also an index that appears to be children attending public schools from 1946-1951.
